Most newborn babies make me melt a little inside, but then I saw this one and oh my gosh… I was ready to run away with her. (not for real. You can stop dialing the police now). She’s such a tiny little thing but with these humongous eyes and such an adorable face! (ok Rina, breath. Remember, you like sleeping through the night…) Here are some of my favorite portraits from this doll’s photo session.

Not only do these guys have adorable wardrobes and the cutest faces, they also know how to pose! Check out the baby’s pose in the first portrait- I laughed out loud when he started doing that all by himself. And big sister’s gorgeous smile and fun personality made for a great session. I’m already looking forward to their next session in the summer! I had the pleasure of photographing the sweetest family recently. Adorable R. is having his upsherin soon and while the focus was mostly on him, we also did some family portraits. You can just feel the love radiating from their portraits.

I always love when the parents join in the session.  Although many times our inclination as moms (and dads too) is to shy away from being in photos, its just really special to have a beautiful family portrait that stops time and captures your family as you are right now…Some people say, oh but then what happens when the family grows and changes? And that, I feel, is precisely the reason TO do family portraits right now. Because your family will never be the same as you are right now! Time passes and you lose the opportunity to capture the now.

The E. family ordered a beautiful wall display featuring a big family portrait in middle and then two smaller ones on the sides of R. with his mom and R. with his dad… and I’m sure they will feel happy every time they walk into the room and see it hanging there.

So I’m a little behind on posting here, due to the backlog of work that always happens after Pesach time, but I’m slowly getting ahead… Gorgeous E. just turned one and she was a pleasure to photograph. Can you see her huge personality in these portraits?? Mom had the cutest clothes and accessories for her too- little girls are fun! baby girl portrait nybaby girl portrait ny baby girl portrait ny baby girl portrait ny baby girl portrait ny baby girl portrait ny

Once upon a time there was a three year old boy with a head of beautiful red curls, a deep dimple in each cheek, and the type of personality one would assume goes along with all that. One day, he and his mom went to Rina Schiffman Photography to get some portraits taken before his Upsherin. Rina, a sucker for redheads and with a love for all kids in general, had a blast being wacky and eliciting giggles and smiles and many different expressions from the little boy. She thinks the adorable boy had fun as well.  When the time came to post some sneak peek images on her blog, Rina had a really tough time not posting the entire session. After finally narrowing it down to a few pictures, she perfected them and posted them on her blog.

Rina really loves her job, and wishes the W. family mazel tov and much nachas!

The end         🙂

As soon as this little guy walked into the studio and said hello to me, I knew we were going to have a great session. He is one of the smartest and articulate upsherin boys I’ve photographed – and the first one to ask me about my white balance! (his father enjoys photography) He was so cooperative and you can tell by looking at him that he has a heart of gold. Total sweet heart!

Here are just a couple of his upsherin portraits that I love… Mazal Tov I. family! Upsherin Photographer NY Upsherin Photographer NY Upsherin Photographer NY Upsherin Photographer NY Upsherin Photographer NY

The S. family came in for some family portraits and baby portraits of adorable J., who is turning one! He is such a boy- crawling super fast all over the studio. I’m in love with his chub- those cheeks , belly and thighs of his are so squishable (no, that’s not a word but I don’t care) . We ended off the session with a cake smash, which was extremely entertaining for all parties involved. I should do cake smashes more often, they are hilarious to watch and which baby doesn’t look adorable covered in frosting? If you have a baby turning one, just bring along a small frosted cake and we can have fun creating cake smash pictures!  baby boy portrait session NYbaby boy portrait session NY family photographer NY baby boy portrait session NYbaby boy portrait session NYbaby boy cake smash portrait
